Urban Seed invites us to ‘Run Melbourne’

IT’S TIME TO PREPARE FOR RUN MELBOURNE 2013 (Event date: 21/7/2013)

Run Melbourne, is an annual charity “fun run”, hosted by the city of Melbourne since 2006. It is a unique event insofar as rather than raise money for any particular cause, such as the Mother’s Day Classic which raises funds for Breast Cancer Research, Run Melbourne is designed to be an “opportunity for participants to give back to the community by raising funds for a cause close to their individual hearts”. Teams raise money for a charity or not-for-profit organisation of their choice.

Urban Seed is fielding a team again, and we are asking for your support, by:

  1. Walking, jogging, running (or indeed taking a leisurely stroll) as a member of the Urban Seed team; or
  2. Donating money to the team or individual members of the team; or
  3. Helping out with the brunch after the event; or
  4. Cheering on Team Urban Seed!
THIS IS A GREAT WAY TO NOT ONLY RAISE MONEY TO SUPPORT THE WORK OF URBAN SEED,
BUT ALSO PARTICIPANT IN A FABULOUS URBAN SEED COMMUNITY EVENT.
Get in involved by walking, running, donating, or cheering on Team Urban Seed!
Here’s how:
WALK OR RUN!
Choose 5km, 10km or a half marathon. Visit Run Melbourne for details about start times.
For details about how to register and join Team Urban Seed, visit the Urban Seed Run Melbourne Signup Page.
Runners who raise over $100 will receive a free running t-shirt, thanks to our friends at 2XU
DONATE!
We have a stellar team from Credo Café and beyond, who are getting fit for the big day

TWO OF OUR TEAM MEMBERSTeam members include Woodsy & Bella, who form an energetic father-daughter team.
This is the third time the pair has participated in the event. Last year 8-year-old Bella left her dad in the dust, running ahead with Urban Seed staff member Tania. Tania ran at her usual speed, and was amazed to look beside her and see Bella keeping apace! But Woodsy says that Bella gets her running genes from him, because he was a keen athletics competitor in the days of his youth.
Woodsy, Bella and Bella’s mum Sarah are all long-term Credo community members. Woodsy & Bella are hoping to raise $900 between them, while Sarah will be helping to prepare a delicious community brunch in Credo Café to celebrate with all our hungry runners.
If you would like to sponsor Woodsy or Bella, go to…
CELEBRATE WITH BRUNCH IN CREDO!
Whether you have worked up your appetite running in the event or cheering on your friends, we would love to have you join us for brunch in Credo Café after the event.
For more information about this event, contact Mayra Stark.
Thanks to you all – and see you at lunch.
